Softwares for wedding

One idea I have is that we have year book in universities, we can have something similar for weddings that you will be able to generate invites for. People will receive them, they will fill up a little form that will have some questions: their favorite moments of the wedding, their favorite photos, what they wish for you, etc. Then you can get it collated. We can sell you 100 or 50 copies of these notebooks, which you can give to your nearest and dearest. Maybe you also upload 50 best photos from your wedding, and we can make it an album-type thing that says, “Hey, these are your moments, these are what your closest people are saying.” Maybe we can even showcase those photos via those links And farm responses because hey, who actually has the time to look at your wedding photos other than events like this? Maybe tell them to fill it up on the weekend. For responses, they can even just send voice notes, and we can try to decipher them using AI. And maybe polls like the best dancer or the best singer and stuff like that. Plus, you can limit the scope of this also. You do not have to send it to everyone, just the closest few people to you.

Makes it feel special, not spammy:

  • Getting this request signals “you’re in our inner circle”
  • People are more likely to put in effort when they know they’re one of 25, not one of 200
  • Less “ugh, another wedding task” and more “oh, they really want to hear from me”

The final product is better:

  • A book with 20-25 heartfelt voice messages is more meaningful than 80 half-hearted form responses
  • You can actually listen to all the audio without it being overwhelming
  • The printed book stays a manageable size (not a 300-page tome)

You could make it even easier:

  • WhatsApp voice message directly to a dedicated number
  • Or a simple web link where they press one button and record
  • Show a timer so people know they don’t need to give a speech—30 seconds is fine

Plus, I think we can extend it to a party or event also. Just bundle it with the event manager or destination owner. He gets upsell, you get a bit of revenue, and customers get to keep their memories. Plus I doubt there’s much technical complexity involved in just a forms and galley app w print option. Bet there is some open source yearbook for software out there already.

In marathons, I have seen that the placeholder tag they give it has a chip in it which tracks your score and time to complete the race. I think it is smart enough to also tag you to certain photos. I think something similar, but cutesy, can be done for weddings. That hey wear this brooch which is for let’s say groom side or bright side. You wear this and it will also kind of tag you to photos, and when we upload the album, you can use it to find your photos.

Everyone wins:

  • Venue/planner: Adds 10-15% margin on top of your cost, differentiates their offering
  • You: Don’t need to find individual customers, venue brings volume
  • Customer: Discovers the service through someone they already trust

The Technical Stack (Pretty Simple)

Core components:

  1. Form/voice collection interface – Could literally be a Typeform clone or use Typeform itself
  2. Voice transcription – Whisper API or similar (commodity at this point)
  3. Photo gallery – Any basic image hosting/selection tool
  4. Poll system – Dead simple voting interface
  5. Book layout generator – Template-based PDF generation
  6. Print fulfillment – You’re not printing yourself, you’re using a service
