I need an engineer’s curiosity but for software

These guys always look at things and wonder how it was built

A mechanical engineer might look at a contraption or a Ferris wheel and think, “How exactly did they build it?”

And i want that

Any software i look at, i shall wonder how it works

Scrolling reels? Then how did they make it infinite? How do they load reels even if they’re infinite?

Typing on Notion? how are they saving the text for a web app? How much of it is client-side, how much of it is server-side? How did they strike the balance?

Using Cursor? how are they managing so many users using LLM APIs? Do they rotate the keys? Did they create one key per user? What is happening?

Posting a blog? Where exactly is this getting saved? How are people fetching it?

Scrolling Amazon? How are they fetching prices and images for them all? How are they showing me these exact products? What made them recommend this?

Using WordPress? How exactly does the text editor work? how are they seperating sentence by using enter key or shift + enter key?

Video lagging? What exactly makes them show this buffering animation? When did they download it? Certainly not now because the net connection is bad. How did they do it? Is the buffering part client-side?

I have to keep coming up with questions like this and solve them.
