Reality is what makes your ideas worth something.

Those who change the world do it because they are manipulating people and material in reality. Okay, I understand that everything starts as an idea inside your head and it might have its own incubation period where you make that idea mature enough to introduce it into the world. But There is a right time for it, and if you cannot delay that too much, because that idea of yours will have 80% chance to fail within 30 minutes of trying to implement it. And those which survive being implemented then undergo the process where they get exponentially better as you keep interacting with reality. For example, you might have a idea for a camera shot. Okay, then 80% of the shots that you have, you will realize when you point the camera, they just come out shit, and some rare ones show potential. And then once you see the image that was clicked in that framing, you understand hey, I can tweak. This I can tweak that, and through the series of tweaks, the photo becomes exponentially better as iterations come. So those who change world are able to do it because they turn their idea into a test against reality, and when it survives reality, you put it through a grueling iteration process to get what you want. So you can ideate all you want. Unless you push it into the world and iterate on it, it’s worthless. Because hey, most probably the idea you are thinking about is not something that will survive. And if it is even going to survive, the value of it is going to come from the iterations. So whatever is in your head is not worth much. Push it into the world. Let reality give some feedback on it. Let it turn into a actual conversation, actual product, actual prototype, and then iterate on it.

So don’t go loco just thinking about things. That’s that’s not really healthy. Have ideas, have a lot of them, make them face the reality and improve the ones that are worth it. That’s how you keep thinking, doing and having fun. Because let me tell you, the world will be slapping the ideas you have out of existence. But when you see one of your ideas become something promising and just keeps getting better as with iterations you will know true joy

Think of yourself more like a military commander with a battle in front of him. You can have all the ideas you want, but you gotta go fight the battle as well. So have your little ideas, test them out, and whichever seems promising, commit to that. Otherwise, you will have never fought a battle. And what’s more disastrous than that?
