difference between high and low view video is razor thin on social media
even time can fuck things up
if something uploaded today got views maybe wouldnt have if it was uploaded tomorrow
Success on platforms is razor-thin marginal.
Timing, minor tweaks, and luck create massive outcome differences between nearly identical videos.
Three Levels of Video-Platform Fit:
Assume you created a hit video, can you replicate the success?
Weak fit: Hit video → no variants of the hit video replicate performance. You got lucky.
Medium fit: Hit video → only significantly different variants of the video go viral. You found a direction, not a formula. The category works, your exact execution doesn’t.
Strong fit: Hit video → near-replica of video go viral (minor changes work). You found an actual pattern the algorithm rewards. This is reproducible alpha.
Thus depending on the fit you found you can decide your creation strategy
If you found a strong fit it doesn’t make sense to deviate from it
you should just double down
but if it is medium or weak you should keep striving to find that strong fit
Why the Three-Level Fit Framework?
The “strong fit” scenario is the holy grail because you’ve found something the algorithm reliably rewards.
When you find this, deviating is actually irrational because you’re throwing away discovered alpha to chase novelty.
Most creators sabotage themselves here by getting bored of what works.
The “medium/weak fit” scenarios are diagnostic tools.
They tell you you haven’t actually cracked the code yet but you got lucky with a one-off that caught a wave.
The correct response is more exploration
Thus being good at making variants and testing and running new creatives is essential skill
You need to be good at making multiple videos out of one video and not just tire out at making one video
The stamina to iterate is actually more valuable than the ability to make one perfect video.
So for any given script and A-roll footage
You need to spin many variants
Using 10 scripts to test 10 hypothesis <<< using lowest resources as possible by making 10 variants of a single script
This is 10x cheaper than shooting 10 new scripts.
Use the project duplicate button more than record button
Duplicate then edit lil things
You should take it as a challenge to make any given script viral by making variants of it
