Who do we trust?

We trust people who we know and already have knowledge about their knowledge and feats.

Like, if I need a social favor, instead of me asking it directly, I would take one of my friends to do it for me.

I would trust to do this sort of thing because I know he is a social bird and can operate in these situations.

Thus, if you want to be trusted by someone to be able to do something, you have to portray yourself as someone who knows about it and has done it.

And that’s the difference that is seen between academia and industry.

Professors and teachers are not paid much because we know they know.

But the practitioners are paid a lot more because we know that these guys know what’s up and they have also done it.

A consultant will always be paid more than a professor.

It is the intersection of knowing and doing that builds trust and monetization potential.

Thus, the content you create online should not just be about knowledge, but also a reflection of what you are doing and who you are.

My blog till now has just been me theorizing. It’s just me knowing or trying to know, and it never got me anywhere.

But the Reels that I create now are where I show my knowledge and also how I am building Rohkun.

It has gotten me so much trust and outreach.

Whatever content you make, demonstrate your knowledge, show your status, show what you have done in the past, show what you are doing right now, and how that supports your image and demonstrates your competency.

This builds projects for you, this builds social capital for you and puts you into valuable circles.

It allows your name to be spoken in rooms where you will not be present and also opens a lot of consulting opportunities.

Exactly what I am doing with Rohkun.

I am building it in public, sharing what I know, sharing what I am doing, sharing who I am, this is my experience.

Ultimately with the end goal of building a user base for that product and building my own social capital and consultancy opportunities for myself.

Content creation shouldn’t be separated from your actual work.

Your best content is your work, documented.
